LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke to some of the negative comments about LSU that preceded the win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.

BATON ROUGE — Brian Kelly heard all the gnashing of teeth from fans during the open transfer portal window over the summer.

The Tigers already have four scholarship quarterbacks on their roster, including Nussmeier, redshirt freshman Rickie Collins, junior AJ Swann and freshman Colin Hurley. Swann transferred to LSU from Vanderbilt this past offseason, while Collins and Hurley were four-star signees.

Kelly's salary increases each season he's the head coach at LSU. His initial base salary was $9 million for the 2022 season and this season, he'll pull in $9.2 million, per the contract. By leading the Tigers to a bowl game this season, Kelly has already secured a $500,000 bonus so Kelly will be pulling in $9.7 million for the 2024 season.
