Community members and residents in Sharon are rallying after a high school football player suffered a “traumatic brain injury” during the town’s annual Thanksgiving game against Oliver Ames.

Rohan Shukla sustained a “traumatic brain injury” during the game and was sent to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton and then to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, according to a Sharon Police Department Facebook post. The game ended as his trainer, coaches and emergency personnel responded to the incident.

Rohan Shukla underwent brain surgery, according to the crowdfunding page, which had raised more than $13,000 in just three hours, already exceeding a goal of $2,500.
