A winter storm heading toward the Tri-State area could produce heavy rain and even snow for parts of New York state, snarling travel for millions of people during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thanksgiving Day will be soggy as a storm system passes through the region. The storm looks to be moving a little faster, allowing for rain to taper late in the afternoon

Parts of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are under winter storm warnings, and precipitation is expected to begin as early as 1 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Higher elevations, including area ski resorts, will see snowfall that could continue through 1 a.m. on Black Friday.
