Norton Police say they responded to the area of 95 North Washington Street at around 1:36 a.m. for a report of a car that had crashed into a utility pole and a tree.

The crash occurred at 1:36 a.m. on North Washington Street when a vehicle struck a utility pole and a tree, according to Norton police. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Utility crews came to the scene to repair the broken pole and emergency personnel remained on the scene for four hours.

The Norton Police Department said they received a 911 call just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday which reported that a car had struck a utility pole and a tree on North Washington Street, resulting in significant damage.

First responders were notified of a crash in the area of 95 North Washington St. in Norton early Thursday morning.
