Patrik Laine made a rousing return after a year away from NHL action. Laine made his debut with the Canadiens on Tuesday night, opening the scoring in Montreal’s 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders.

The Canadiens began the day by sharing some terrific news, announcing that Patrik Laine has been activated off the injured reserve and will make his season debut against the Islanders. The veteran winger was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in August but has been on the sidelines ever since he suffered a knee injury during the preseason.
