New charges filed against a Colorado dentist accused of fatally poisoning his wife’s protein shakes focus on his alleged efforts to kill a detective involved in the case, authorities said.

Prosecutors filed two new charges against James Craig last week — solicitation to commit murder as well as solicitation to commit perjury.

Colorado dentist James Craig, whose attorney withdrew just one day before his trial, was previously accused of attempting to plant evidence to fabricate a suicide scenario for his wife and of hiring women to falsely claim they had affairs with him.
