KYIV, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Ukraine on Tuesday blasted an agreement struck 30 years ago under which it relinquished nuclear weapons in exchange for security assurances that never materialised, as it makes a concerted push for an invitation to join the NATO alliance.

The ministry noted that Dec. 5, 2024, marks 30 years since Ukraine signed the memorandum, which was supposed to guarantee its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in exchange for giving up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal.
