D Gukesh holds a psychological advantage over reigning champion Ding Liren of China, having demonstrated better preparation and claimed his first victory following the first three games of the World Chess Championship.

Gukesh came under fire from former World Champion Magnus Carlsen who had stated that the young Indian 'didn't make a single good decision' throughout Game 1.

Indian grandmaster D Gukesh cited the example of Magnus Carlsen after he overcame the slow start he made to the World Chess Championship match against Ding Liren. Gukesh secured the win in Game 3 against Liren on November 27.

Having lost the first game rather badly with black pieces, Gukesh struck gold thanks to his preparation that gave him a huge advantage on the clock.

Indian challenger Gukesh picked up his first win of the final to level the overall scores at 1.5-each with Championship holder Liren.
